Another month is behind us and the Happy Valley Housing Project keeps moving forward. We have jumped from 560 to 660 houses handed over. 822 of the shells have already been completed though, with the finishing touches underway as we speak. After speaking with the Civils side of the project they have indicated that roads, pipelines, housing connections and all other Civils should be complete within the next month.
There are roughly 200 spaces that are allocated for PHP (People’s Housing Project), in which people who are unable to qualify for subsidised housing can build their own with the help of overseers and facilitators. And that should continue within the next few months.
Despite a few setbacks things appear to still be on track and we look forward to the project’s completion in July 2013 when everyone on the list will be living in their new homes.
