The City of Cape Town has rolled out its Winter Preparedness Programme in anticipation of the coming winter season – rain, sleet and snow (although not as much snow). Blackheath has not been left out. The last few weeks has seen the council flattening and hardening the gravel verges and clearing the storm water canals throughout the area.Grass has been cut, trees have been trimmed and drains have been cleared to prevent flooding of roads and keep the area as neat and safe as possible.
