October has seen a slight increase in crime within the local area, especially as far as burglaries are concerned. Please ensure that you premises are secure when you leave the office at the close of business. Please also ensure that your alarm is in a good working order and that you have it tested with your alarm response service regularly to ensure it is communicating effectively to the control room and armed response service.
At this time of the year leading up to the December period we always see an increase in Business related crime including burglaries, robberies and general theft.
PLEASE DO NOT HANDLE LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH AT YOUR PREMISES. DO NOT PAY CASH WAGES DURING THIS PERIOD. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND WITH LARGE SUMS OF MONEY ON YOUR PERSON. THIEVES OPERATE NEAR BANKS. THEY OBSERVE YOU AND FOLLOW YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION. THEY ARE ARMED AND DANGEROUS. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF AT RISK!
For any advice on how to secure your premises, please contact me at 021 905 0929 or Adolf Bezuidenhout at ST3 Security on 021 905 3399 for advice. We are always happy to help.
We are now heading toward the December shut-down period. Please ensure that you book to have your alarm serviced and tested before the Christmas Break. Make a booking in good time as this is a peak period and the suppliers may be inundated the later it gets.
Planning to secure your premises is the most important thing to do over this period as the Industrial Area is pretty deserted over the December / January holiday when opportunist criminals lurk in the side streets. Obviously our staff work throughout this period to keep the area clean and the 24-Hour Security patrols continue throughout this period to keep an eye on the public open space to identify imminent risks and the potential criminal elements.
Please ensure that you report all incidents of crime to the SAP Services so that they can track crime statistics, trends and bolster crime intelligence within the SAPS. We also need to identify crime patterns, hot spots and repeat offenders.
Various Vehicle Check Points (VCP’s) were conducted in the local area in October by the traffic department. We had an operation in School Street / Range Road and also in Range Road near the four way stop. Various fines were issued, most of which to unregistered/unlicensed vehicles.
Please report any concerns you may have to me at bcid@kingsley.co.za for my immediate attention.
