We attempted to cleanse every street within the Blackheath CID Area in February and succeeded in doing so although it was a short month. Please report any specific issues to us for immediate attention from the CID Cleansing team on 021 905 0929 who respond to matters immediately under the stewardship of Mr. Jacobus Rossouw.
In addition to this we mowed verges along Nebula Crescent, Heath Circle, Buttskop, Trafford, Gooderson and Anfield Roads, tended to weeds along these routes and dealt with alien vegetation along the main roads. Illegal dumping sites were cleaned in School Road twice for tyres and papers, Roker Close for tree branches and black bags full of general waste, Trafford Road for tyres and unwanted waste and in Nebula Crescent for concrete and building rubble.
Although the number of incidents of dumping has decreased significantly from last month it is still not at acceptable levels and we urge all to please report illegal dumping. All Law enforcement related issues can be reported directly to 107 from the landline or 021 596 1999 from a cell phone. Try to get a photograph of the event for the purpose of having evidence to support the complaint and be sure that we can bring the perpetrator to book! One single case is too many in my books!
We trimmed the trees across the road from the Station in Range Road to increase visibility as the area was becoming home to vagrants and those in need of ablutions. We also cleared trees along the side of Anfield and Gooderson Roads. The ver
ges were cleared at the circle as you enter into Blackheath from the Mfuleni side at the corner of Wimbledon and Buttskop Roads as well as the pavement in front of Colcab Pty Ltd in Buttskop Road. We also cleaned the trench in Rand Road to prevent blockages.
